Rotation Sunday school is for children in grades 1 - 6.  Three year olds through Kindergarten meet in "Traditional" Sunday School atmosphere in Fellowship Hall.

Let's swing into Graceland

for some real fun!!!!

People often ask, "What is Rotation Sunday School?"  Simply put, it's a new way of teaching children stories from the Bible.  However, the approach is quite different from the traditional- present a different bible story each week - approach.  Rotation S.S. provides need repetition (without boredom) to ingrain the text and its implications by covering the same major story 6 weeks in a row,  but from various perspectives through "workshops".

In our new Rotation S.S., only 5 major stories will be covered each year, but students will have retained those 5 stories to a much higher degree than the once-and-done approach.

Workshops

Every week during a six week rotation, students will learn the same story in a different "workshop".  This increases students excitement, anticipation and participation.

A workshop, is a room designed to utilize one specific "teaching tool" (Art, cooking, science, News, Drama, Cinema)

Teaching Tools

A teaching tool can be anything from food to high-tech electronic equipment - anything that can be used to bring a lesson to life in the mind of the students.  A variety of teaching tools can tap into the different ways students learn.  For instance, videotapes help students learn visually.  Art is a great way for students to learn through their sense of touch.  Drama helps kids learn emotionally, by letting them "step into the shoes" of specific characters from a story.  These teaching tools provide different ways to reach lesson goals, and they ensure that students with different learning styles will have equal opportunities to understand the lessons.
